Awareness of Bias
This exercise is designed to develop your self awareness of any biases that may come up in your interaction with polygamous families. Please be candid with your answers as you are the only one who will see them.
1. What is your picture of a polygamous culture/family?
2. What are the sources of these biases?
(religion, social traditions, media, personal experience, something you heard, other)
3. How could you apply the principles of cultural responsiveness to polygamous families?
4. Name two or three ways you could find some kind of common ground with the people of this culture?
